Terms of Use
Practice Pack is a free coding-practice tool. These terms describe what you can expect from us and what we
expect from you. By using the site at code.lywedo.com you agree to them.
The short version
- The service is free. There is no paid tier and no ads.
- You don't have to sign in. If you do, sync is the only thing it unlocks.
- Practice content is provided as-is for personal learning. No warranty.
- Don't abuse the service or try to break it for other people.
- Your journal entries and progress are yours; you can delete them at any time.
What Practice Pack is
A web app that helps developers practice coding idioms in short daily sessions. It runs locally in your browser by default. Optional sign-in (via GitHub or Google) syncs your progress across devices.
Eligibility
Practice Pack is not directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly accept their data. If you sign in with GitHub or Google you must be old enough to use those services per their own terms.
Your account, your data
- You retain all rights to the code you write in the editor and the text you write in your journal entries. We don't claim any ownership of that content.
- You can sign out at any time, and ask us to delete the synced copy of your account by emailing the address below.
- You can also wipe the local copy by clearing site data for
code.lywedo.comin your browser. - We may suspend or remove accounts that abuse the service (see below).
Acceptable use
Don't:
- Try to break or interfere with the service, the backend at
api.code.lywedo.com, or other users' sessions. - Scrape problem content for resale or attempt to enumerate the user database.
- Submit illegal content into journal entries that are later synced to our backend.
- Use automated agents to inflate your leaderboard score or sync arbitrary fake events.
If you spot a security issue, please email us before disclosing it — see the contact at the bottom.
Practice content
The problems, hints, and test cases are written by the maintainer for personal-learning use. You may solve them and write about them on your own blog or in interviews. Please don't republish the full problem set or scrape it wholesale.
Service availability
The site is provided "as is" and "as available." We don't guarantee uptime, that the practice content is correct, that the leaderboard is accurate, that your sync will always succeed, or that data once synced cannot be lost. The local-first design means your browser is the authoritative copy of your progress; the synced copy is a convenience.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the maintainer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Practice Pack. Direct liability, if any, is capped at NZD $0 because the service is free.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access at our discretion, especially for behavior that breaks Acceptable Use. You may stop using the service at any time by closing the tab; signed-in users can also email us to have the account fully removed.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms. Material changes will move the "Last updated" date and will be called out in the project's CHANGELOG. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms; if you don't, sign out and clear your local data.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. If you and the maintainer can't resolve a dispute informally, the courts of New Zealand have non-exclusive jurisdiction.
